Clean Label 5% Soft Roll Concentrate

We have offered a 5% Soft Roll Concentrate for the past few years, and after lots of trial and error, trialling different emulsifiers, relaxers, and shelf life extenders, we can proudly present a clean label 5% Soft Roll Concentrate. In short: it's more cost-effective, less dusty, and better for the environment. If you'd like to know more, feel free to read on! We still offer the "regular one" too.

What makes it clean label?

Usually a Roll mix will use a number of Palm-Oil based emulsifiers (E471, E472e, E481 etc) in order to give the roll volume and softness. We do not use any of these in this mix, instead using a blend of enzymes formulated by ourselves for this specific purpose. There are no e numbers in the blend at all.

Why choose clean label?

There are a few reasons to use a clean label mix:

-Cost: By using enzymes we can save a few percent on each tonne we produce, meaning our already good prices are even more competitive.

-Dust: Due to the lack of dusty e-numbers (especially e472e, DATEM) this blend appears more flour like due to its highly concentrated nature, meaning less dust and mess.

-Environmental Worries: Production of Palm Oil in SE Asia is "is the leading driver of habitat and biodiversity loss - notably for endangered animals. Palm oil is not going anywhere in the Food industry, however we aim to move away from it wherever possible

-Supply Chain Issues: Earlier this year Indonesia temporarily banned all Palm oil exports. This could happen again and we wouldn't like it to affect our customers, as Indonesia produces 58% of the world's palm oil as of 2019 (Statista, 2019).
